Samuel was a prophet, judge, and Nazirite who served Israel during the transition from the judges to the monarchy. He called the people to repentance, anointed Saul and David, and faithfully proclaimed God’s word.
Biblical Usage
Samuel received a prophetic call at Shiloh, led Israel to repentance, judged the people, and prayed for victory over the Philistines. He anointed Saul and later David, warned Israel concerning kingship, and faithfully proclaimed God’s will.
