Sanctification
Sanctification is God’s work of setting people apart for Himself and making them holy. Through the Holy Spirit, believers are progressively changed in faith and obedience, though perfect holiness is not attained in this life.
Biblical Usage
Scripture uses sanctification both formally for consecration to God and ethically for growth in holiness. Faith joins the believer to Christ and brings him into living contact with God’s truth. Perfect sanctification is not attained in this life.
