Sanhedrim
Sanhedrim is an older form of Sanhedrin, the supreme Jewish council and court in Jerusalem during the period surrounding the New Testament. It included chief priests, elders, and scribes and examined Jesus, the apostles, Stephen, and Paul.
Biblical Usage
The Sanhedrin examined Jesus, Peter and John, Stephen, and Paul. It functioned as the council before which accusations of messianic claims, heresy, blasphemy, and temple violations were heard.
