SELF-SURRENDER
Self-surrender is yielding one’s will, possessions, and life to God and, for His sake, serving others. Scripture presents it through faithful obedience, sacrificial worship, discipleship, and especially Christ’s willing submission and death.
Biblical Usage
The Old Testament presents self-surrender in the obedience of Abraham, Moses, the prophets, Esther, Nehemiah, and others, and in the Levitical sacrifices and consecrations. Jesus taught and practiced it, surrendering His will to the Father and giving His life. The apostles expressed it through shared possessions, witness, service, submission, and dying to self with Christ.
