Shechinah
Shechinah is a later Jewish term for the visible manifestation of God’s presence, especially the glory associated with the tabernacle and Solomon’s temple. Scripture describes this presence through the glory-cloud that filled the sanctuary.
Biblical Usage
The glory-cloud represented God’s presence with Israel, leading the people from Egypt and appearing in connection with the tabernacle. At the dedication of Solomon’s temple, the glory filled the house so that the priests could not minister. The term itself is not found in Scripture.
