Sheth

People & Groups • Old Testament
Sheth may refer to Seth, the antediluvian son of Adam, or may mean “sons of tumult” in Balaam’s prophecy. The spelling is a variant form in English Bible traditions.
Biblical Usage
In one passage, “the children of Sheth” is understood in the Revised Version as “the sons of tumult,” probably not a proper name. Elsewhere Sheth is the patriarch Seth.
