Stoning

Sin & Judgment • Both
Stoning was a form of execution or punishment prescribed for certain offenses under the Mosaic law. It was also carried out against individuals such as Achan, Naboth, Stephen, and, unsuccessfully, Paul.
Biblical Usage
The law prescribed stoning for specified offenses. Achan, Naboth, and Stephen were stoned, while Paul was stoned and left for dead. The punishment therefore appears both in Israelite legal regulations and in later accounts of persecution.
