Thebes, called No or No-amon in the Bible, was a major ancient Egyptian city on both sides of the Nile. The prophets foretold its defeat and destruction.
Biblical Usage
Jeremiah and Nahum refer to No-amon, while Ezekiel uses No for the Egyptian seat of Amon. The prophets foretold its overthrow and destruction.
