Thomas, whose name means “twin” and who was also called Didymus, was one of Jesus’ twelve apostles. Though initially hesitant to believe the resurrection, he confessed the risen Jesus as “My Lord and my God.”
Biblical Usage
Thomas was willing to face danger with Jesus, questioned the way to the Father, and initially refused to believe the resurrection without personal evidence. When Jesus appeared to him, Thomas confessed, “My Lord and my God.”
