Thunder

Thunder is the sound produced by a lightning discharge and is especially associated with storms. In Scripture it often signifies God’s power, judgment, and voice; James and John were called “sons of thunder.”
Biblical Usage
Thunder accompanied the giving of the law at Sinai and God’s answer to Samuel’s prayer. Scripture describes it as Jehovah’s voice and as an expression of divine power and vengeance. James and John were called sons of thunder.
