Tiglath-Pileser III.

Tiglath-Pileser III was the Assyrian king also known as Pul. He conquered Damascus, weakened Israel, carried many Israelites into captivity, and received tribute from Ahaz of Judah.
Biblical Usage
He attacked the northern kingdom, took much of its territory, and carried away inhabitants from the tribes east of the Jordan and from Naphtali. He killed Rezin of Damascus and received submission from Ahaz.
