TIME
Biblical time was reckoned through days, nights, weeks, lunar months, years, and seasons. Israel’s calendar included sacred and civil years, with dates commonly identified by festivals, kings’ reigns, or significant events; later Jewish history also used established eras.
Biblical Usage
The Bible uses time both for ordinary divisions such as day, night, week, month, and year, and for broader expressions such as “the day of the Lord” and “the day of judgment.” The Sabbath marked the seventh day and also came to designate the week.
