Timotheus is the Greek form of the name Timothy. The name also appears in inter-testamental history for an Ammonite leader who opposed Judas Maccabeus.
Biblical Usage
In the New Testament, Timotheus is the Greek form of Timothy. In the Maccabaean accounts, another Timotheus led the Ammonites against the Jews.
