Trumpets, Feast of

The Feast of Trumpets was observed on the first day of the seventh month, Tishri. It was a holy convocation and day of rest marked by special trumpet blasts and sacrifices.
Biblical Usage
The feast is prescribed in Leviticus and Numbers as a memorial of trumpet blowing. It marked the beginning of the civil year and was associated with the new moon of Tishri. The Bible does not state its special design beyond these observances.
