TUTOR
A tutor is properly a guardian or supervisor, especially of a child. In the New Testament the term describes guardians or custodians under whose care a child remained until maturity, and it is also translated “schoolmaster” in some passages.
Biblical Usage
In Galatians 4:2, the term refers to a guardian over a child until the appointed time. Related passages use it for a custodian or guide and are translated “schoolmaster” in the King James Version.
