Version
A version is a translation of the Holy Scriptures. Ancient versions included the Aramaic Targums, Greek Septuagint, Syriac and Latin translations, and numerous Greek manuscripts that help preserve and interpret the biblical text.
Biblical Usage
The Septuagint became the source of most Old Testament quotations by New Testament writers. Ancient translations preserve evidence for the text and show how Hebrew thought was expressed in other languages.
