VIRGIN BIRTH
The virgin birth is the biblical teaching that Jesus was conceived and born of Mary while she was a virgin, as recorded in Matthew and Luke. It is a central testimony concerning Christ’s incarnation and person.
Biblical Usage
Matthew and Luke present the virgin birth as a historical statement concerning Jesus’ origin. It is closely related to the identity and incarnation of Christ, although the infancy narratives give it relatively little doctrinal elaboration.
