Vision
Prophecy • Both
A vision is a vivid revelation or appearance received by a person, whether while awake or in a dream. God used visions to give direction, prophetic warning, and revelation concerning his purposes.
Biblical Usage
Biblical visions came by day, by night, in waking moments, or in dreams. They gave immediate direction to individuals such as Abram, Peter, and Paul, and conveyed prophetic revelations through Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and John. The absence of visions is associated with spiritual decline.
