WATER
Water is essential to life and appears throughout Scripture in creation, travel, agriculture, cleansing, worship, and judgment. It may also symbolize refreshment, distress, cleansing, or God’s sustaining provision.
Biblical Usage
Water appears in creation, wells, springs, pools, cisterns, thirst, irrigation, and Jewish ceremonial washing. Sacrifices and persons were washed with water, while lack of water caused severe suffering.
