The biblical world is presented as the heavens and the earth, created and sustained by the one sovereign God. Scripture emphasizes its beginning, ordered design, dependence on divine providence, and ultimate purpose rather than a technical scientific description.
Biblical Usage
The biblical account teaches that the world had a beginning, originated in God’s free and almighty will, and is good in constitution, purpose, and end. The New Testament further presents creation as occurring through the agency of the Word or Son.
