WRATH, (ANGER)
Sin & Judgment • Both
Wrath is intense anger or indignation. God’s wrath is His holy and righteous opposition to sin, while human wrath is generally sinful, though anger against evil may be righteous when it is free from personal vengeance.
Biblical Usage
Scripture presents God’s wrath as just, holy, and compatible with His love, while warning that sin, unbelief, impenitence, apostasy, and idolatry provoke it. Human anger is ordinarily forbidden, but anger against evil can be sinless. Faith in Jesus Christ is presented as the way of salvation from God’s righteous wrath.
