ZEBAH AND ZALMUNNA
Zebah and Zalmunna were Midianite kings or chiefs captured and killed by Gideon. Their defeat followed Gideon’s pursuit of the Midianite forces and avenged the killing of his relatives.
Biblical Usage
Judges records Gideon’s pursuit, capture, and execution of Zebah and Zalmunna. Their deaths followed the refusal of Succoth and Penuel to provide provisions and were connected with Gideon’s desire to avenge slain kin. Psalm 83 also names them.
