Zephaniah
Zephaniah was the name of several biblical men, especially the prophet who ministered during Josiah’s reign and proclaimed judgment while calling God’s people to seek Him. Another Zephaniah was a priest executed after Jerusalem’s fall.
Biblical Usage
The prophet Zephaniah announced judgment upon the world and Judah, urged the people to seek God, condemned the nations, and proclaimed salvation. The priest Zephaniah served as a royal messenger and was later killed at Riblah.
