Haggith

Haggith was one of David's wives and the mother of Adonijah, who attempted to claim the throne near the end of David's life.
Biography
Second Samuel lists Haggith as the mother of Adonijah, David's fourth son born at Hebron. First Kings repeatedly identifies Adonijah as Haggith's son during his unsuccessful attempt to become king while David was old. Scripture records no independent actions or speeches by Haggith herself.
Biblical Significance
Haggith's significance is chiefly genealogical as Adonijah's mother. Her name helps distinguish the competing branches within David's royal household during the succession crisis that ended with Solomon's accession.
