Izhar

Izhar was a son of Kohath, grandson of Levi, and ancestor of the Izharite Levitical clan.
Biography
Exodus 6 and 1 Chronicles list Izhar among Kohath's sons. Korah, who led a major wilderness rebellion against Moses and Aaron, was a son of Izhar. Other Izharite descendants later held Levitical responsibilities.
Biblical Significance
Izhar is significant chiefly as an ancestor within the Kohathite Levites and as the father of Korah.
