Nahor son of Terah was Abraham's brother, husband of Milcah, and ancestor of Rebekah, Rachel, and Leah.
Biography
Genesis 11 names Nahor as a son of Terah and husband of his niece Milcah. Their descendants included Bethuel, father of Rebekah and Laban. Abraham's servant later traveled to Nahor's family to find a wife for Isaac, and Jacob likewise went to this extended family and married Laban's daughters Leah and Rachel.
Biblical Significance
Nahor's household is crucial to the patriarchal family network. Through his descendants, the wives of Isaac and Jacob came from Abraham's extended kin rather than from the Canaanites.
