Nun was an Ephraimite and the father of Joshua, Moses' successor.
Biography
Joshua is repeatedly identified throughout Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, and later biblical books as Joshua son of Nun. Nun himself has no independent narrative or recorded speech. Genealogical material in 1 Chronicles places Joshua within Ephraim's line.
Biblical Significance
Nun's significance is genealogical as the father of Joshua, the leader who brought Israel into Canaan. Scripture provides no basis for a fuller personal biography.
