Salah, or Shelah, was a descendant of Shem and ancestor of Eber in the genealogy leading to Abraham.
Biography
Genesis 10-11 and 1 Chronicles 1 place Salah between Arpachshad and Eber in the Masoretic genealogy. Luke 3 follows the Greek genealogical tradition, which includes Cainan between Arphaxad and Shelah. Scripture records no personal narrative about Salah.
Biblical Significance
Salah is significant as a genealogical link in the line from Shem to Abraham. Differences between the Hebrew and Greek genealogical traditions should be noted carefully.
