Zephaniah announces sweeping judgment against idolatry, complacency, violence, and corruption in Judah and Jerusalem, using the 'day of the Lord' as a central theme. He also pronounces judgment on surrounding nations. Yet the book turns toward hope, calling the humble to seek the Lord and promising purification, restoration, and God's rejoicing over His people.
