Archaeological Evidence

Ashtaroth is commonly associated with Tell Ashtara in southern Syria, and Edrei with the Daraa region. These place identifications and wider Bronze Age settlement evidence help locate the setting. Egyptian and other ancient texts refer to places in the region, but no verified inscription names Og or proves the biblical battle. Archaeological remains should not be presented as evidence of his reign without direct support.
