The disappearance of Maacah as a named kingdom cannot be dated precisely.

Growing Aramean and Israelite influence in the northern borderlands may have absorbed smaller polities, but there is no direct evidence for a specific conquest that ended Maacah.

The city of Abel Beth Maacah remained important in later biblical accounts, although its history should not be confused with that of the uncertain kingdom.
