Zobah
Decline and End
According to the biblical account, David defeated Hadadezer and weakened Zobah’s military power. First Kings 11 reports that Rezon, a former associate of Hadadezer, subsequently became powerful in Damascus.
The Bible does not provide a clear account of the formal abolition of Zobah or a securely dated final ruler.
Later Aramean political history is dominated by kingdoms such as Damascus and Hamath. Whether Zobah was absorbed into one of these powers, fragmented, or continued under another name is uncertain.
