Rehum

Rehum was the name of several men, including a leader returning from exile, a Persian official opposing Jerusalem’s rebuilding, a Levite wall-builder, and others associated with the restored community.
Rei

Rei was a man who remained loyal to David when Adonijah attempted to seize the throne. He may have been an officer of David’s royal guard.

Release may mean cancellation of a debt, exemption from taxation or service, or freedom for a prisoner or slave. Biblical usage includes both Old Testament debt release and New Testament liberation from custody.

Remphan is the name used in Acts for the idol called Chiun in Amos. It refers to a star-god associated with Saturn and condemned as an object of Israelite idolatry.

To renew means to refresh, restore, rebuild, or make new. In the New Testament it especially describes spiritual renewal and the restoration of inward strength through God’s work.

“Rent” in Isaiah 3:24 probably refers to a rope or cord, though the passage may also describe clothing torn by violence.

Vain repetitions are empty or mechanical words used in prayer. Jesus warned against heathen-like much speaking, teaching that prayer should not depend on meaningless formulas or length alone.
