THIRST
Thirst is the natural craving for water or drink, but Scripture also uses it for deep spiritual longing. The soul thirsts for God, and Jesus promises living water and lasting satisfaction to those who come to Him.
Biblical Usage
The soul is said to thirst for God. Jesus answers spiritual thirst with the water of life and promises lasting satisfaction. Heavenly blessedness is described as a state in which God’s people hunger and thirst no more.
