Tob, The land of
The land of Tob was a district east of the Jordan, probably near Gilead and toward the eastern deserts. Jephthah lived there before the elders of Gilead recalled him to lead Israel.
Biblical Usage
Jephthah fled there and gathered a band of men. The land later supplied forces allied with Ammon against Israel, but those allies were defeated.
