Shoshenq V was one of the last significant rulers of the 22nd Dynasty. During his lengthy reign Egypt became increasingly fragmented, with regional rulers in the Delta and Upper Egypt exercising growing independence.

A late ruler of the fragmented Libyan period, Osorkon IV governed in the eastern Nile Delta as Assyrian power increasingly affected Egypt and the Levant.
Pedubast I

Third Intermediate Period
23rd Dynasty (Libyan)
c. 818-793 BC
Pedubast I established an important rival royal line during the politically fragmented 23rd Dynasty. His kingship was recognized in parts of Upper Egypt while other rulers simultaneously claimed pharaonic authority elsewhere in the country.
