Tefnakht was a powerful ruler of Sais who organized resistance against the advancing Kushite king Piye and became the founder of the 24th Dynasty. Although defeated by Piye's forces, he retained considerable influence in the western Nile Delta.

Bakenranef, known to Greek writers as Bocchoris, was the sole recognized pharaoh of the short-lived 24th Dynasty at Sais. His reign ended as the Kushite rulers of the 25th Dynasty extended their control over northern Egypt.
Piye

25th Dynasty (Kushite)
c. 744-714 BC
Piye was a Kushite king who campaigned northward from Nubia and defeated a coalition of Egyptian rulers, establishing the dominance of the 25th Dynasty. His famous Victory Stele provides a detailed account of his conquest and presents him as a restorer of traditional Egyptian kingship.
