Ptolemy XIII became co-ruler with his sister Cleopatra VII while still a boy, but rivalry between their factions led to civil war. His struggle with Cleopatra became entangled with Julius Caesar's intervention in Egypt, and Ptolemy died during the resulting Alexandrian War.

47-44 BC

Ptolemy XIV was a younger brother of Cleopatra VII who became her nominal co-ruler following the death of Ptolemy XIII. He played little independent political role and died only a few years later, after which Cleopatra elevated her son Caesarion as co-ruler.

 Ptolemaic Period

44-30 BC

Ptolemy XV Caesarion was the son of Cleopatra VII and Julius Caesar and was elevated by his mother as her co-ruler. After Cleopatra's defeat and death in 30 BC, Caesarion was executed on Octavian's orders, bringing the Ptolemaic royal line to its end.
