Takelot III ruled in Upper Egypt during the fragmented 23rd Dynasty and had previously served as High Priest of Amun at Thebes. His reign reflects the close relationship between religious authority and regional kingship during this divided period.

Rudamun was a short-reigning ruler of Upper Egypt during the late 23rd Dynasty. His limited authority illustrates the extreme political fragmentation of Egypt shortly before the Kushite rulers of Nubia expanded northward.

c. 754-720 BC

Iuput II was a regional ruler in the Nile Delta during the final phase of Libyan political fragmentation. He was among the Egyptian rulers who submitted to the Kushite king Piye during Piye's campaign to extend Nubian authority over Egypt.
